Established in 2001, Ultimate Bet is operated by eWorld Holdings which is located in Antigua, and runs on their own network. UltimateBet continues
to grow with a great software package, and by sponsoring live events and poker pro's like the "poker brat" Phil
Hellmuth.
Customer Service:
Ultimate Bet customer support
staff can be reached via e-mail from within the software or externally. They also have a live chat feature which is
very useful. External e-mails can take some time to answer varying between one and two days, so the live chat feature
is the best way to have questions and or concerns addressed.
Games Offered:
Ultimate Bet offers low to medium stakes NL/Limit Texas Hold'em, Omaha High, Omaha Hi/Lo, Seven Card
Stud, Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo, 5 Card Draw and Razz. 9 seat, 6 seat and heads up tables are available for
both cash games and tournaments. Tournament structures offered are standard, turbo, and ultra turbo where the blinds
increase every two minutes.
Bonus:
Ultimate Bet is offering
a great sign up bonus of 111% up to $1,100 in recognition of Phil Hellmuth's 11 WSOP bracelets. The bonus is released
after every hand or tournament, however the bonus is a little tough to clear at lower levels. Get the full details for
the UltimateBet Bonus.
Site Traffic:
The site traffic at Ultimate Bet
is very good, and finding cash games or tournaments at medium stake levels are not a problem.
Sit & Go Tournaments are offered up to $1000 buy in, and heads up is easy to find up to $200. Single table Sit
& Go's (6 and 9 player) are also offered up to a $1,000 buy in and are also readily available up to the
$200 range.
Cash games are available for as little as $.01/$.02 and up to $25/$50 for NL Hold'em and
$75/$150 for Limit Hold'em. During off peak hours games at maximum levels can be tough to find.
Player Competition:
We feel the competition at Ultimate Bet is a little soft at
cash games, and mediocre for Sit & Go's above the $50 buy-in level. In Ultra Turbo Tournaments many players
have a kamikaze approach, so if patient you can bust players out and take control of the table with a few good hands.
Rewards:
Ultimate Bet has a loyalty program where you earn UB Points
which can be exchanged for cash, merchandise or tournament entries. A plus for Ultimate Bet is that they offer Sit &
Go's for UB Point buy-in's, so you have the opportunity to grow your points balance relatively quick.
Other Features:
The software is very user friendly and we did not experience any
delays or crashes in all the hours played at UB. A great feature at Ultimate Bet that we have not found at any of the
other US Poker Rooms, is the ability to show your opponents your hand when you fold. Players respect a great laydown, and Ultimate Bet allows
you to take advantage of that. You can "Fold and Show" when you feel you have made the right choice.
Use this feature to show your tight, to show your loose, or just keep your opponents guessing.
Cash outs
are processed quickly, and funds are always immediately available for withdraw.
Ultimate Bet also offers a bad
beat jackpot.
Summary:
In general, Ultimate Bet is a very nice poker room that offers very user friendly software and a nice sign up bonus. The highlight of the site
is their multi-table tournaments which offer nice prize pools for a reasonable buy-in.
For example, the 200K Guaranteed
on Sunday's is what we feel is the best value in online poker. For a $200 buy-in you have a shot at the $45,000
first place prize with only roughly 1,000 players entering. The odds are much better of getting to the final table than
competing against thousands of players who enter some of the bigger tournaments at the bigger sites. We would rather
compete against 999 players rather than say 3,500 to get to the final table. Sure first place doesn't pay as much,
but to even get to the $45,000 prize range in the bigger tournaments you have to outplay over 3000 players rather than 1000.
See the poker tournaments page for more logic on this subject.
